We are now in Nairobi We are getting ready today to go to Isiolo for the the first of our medical clinics. We will be putting over 100,000 pills in bags this afternoon so we can distribute them over the next week. I will be doing photos and helping in anyway I can until we get to the bush in Tuesday so I can start on my Photo Project. We will be doing it in two locations. One in the Kenya Bush and one in Ethiopia. I was only planing on one but looks like it will work out to do two. I will have photos starting tomorrow. We arrived safe and are catching up on rest before our departure tomorrow to Isiolo and the bush areas. More to come later.

The Auction is on!!! It's Over at Noon Pacific Time 8/7/07
We are so excited that we are less than two weeks away from leaving for Africa. Because of your generous giving to far we have all the funds we need to make this historic trip to help some of the neediest people on earth. We are leaving for Africa on August 14th to accompany the first ever medical team to reach the people we will be doing our photo project with. I will be picking out our first student to teach photography to.
BUT we still need equipment to make this happen. So a group of our sponsor photographers are willing to donate their time and some of their very cool products to make this happen! We have an Auction going on right now to raise money for 3 digital cameras, a laptop computer, media cards and lots of batteries. ALL YOUR DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Our project is based on mentoring young adults in Africa in the art of Photography. The total visits to our blog in the last 40 hours is just over 1,500! This is a Blog that was non existent 4 days ago. Some donations are still coming in and are welcome. We still need help to make this happen. Most of our needs are for equipment now. I will post a list of what we need soon.
The Blogathon idea is now a reality. As far as I know this is the first 24 hour blogathon with a post every hour for 24 hours. I was just sitting at my computer here on Maui for about 30 hours posting away. The network that was created in a very short time blew me away. We had over 100 blogs linking to our Blog. The number is still growing and people are coming up with their own ideas on how to help. Just received an e-mail from Rebecca Dotson, a wedding jewelry designer that found out late about our Blogathon but came up with her own idea on how to help. She designed a pair of killer earings that she will be donating 50% of the cost to our project. Click here to go to her site and buy a pair. They look amazing!

Just another thing before I take another break (Still a bit bug eyed). The silent auction got a lot of attention and I think we will try to do one of these very soon. I just came up with this idea in the last few hours of the Blogathon and asked a few friends to donate. Jessica Claire's Shootsac went for $200 to Jen Bebb! Thanks Jen. Gary Fong donated a Whale Tail at the last hour but it was too late to get bids. So many have asked for this to happen again and thought it was a fun idea so I will attempt this as soon as I can get it together. It was so much fun and I look forward to another Blogathon in the future. Since this was the first I guess I am now the the foremost expert on the subject now. I learned so much and think Blogathon's have great potential for fundraising.
